Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe was adapted from Stephanie Gallagher's recipe.

1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup quick cooking oats
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter and sugars with an electric mixer. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture. Stir in oats, then chocolate chips. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls (or use a handy dandy small ice cream scoop) and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes.

Makes 30 cookies.
